Obituary of Dominic J. Amendola

Dominic J. Amendola, 93, of Hanover Township, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at his home.
He was born in Hanover Township, a son of the late Joseph and Angela Damiano Amendola. Dominic was a 1950 graduate of Hanover Township High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Army, during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement, he was employed for many years at the Okonite Cable Company in New Brunswick, NJ.
Dominic was a very knowledgeable sports fan; especially of his beloved New York Yankees.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Sinkiewicz Amendola in 2003 and by his son-in-law, Robert Schoen; brothers, Joseph and Anthony Amendola; and by his sisters, Mary Moore, Angela, Rita, Anna, Margaret and Anna Marie Amendola.
Dominic is survived by his children, Debbie Schoen, Barbara Sachs and Robert Drake; his grandsons, Michael Schoen, Ryan Schoen and Christopher Schoen and his wife, Lauren; great granddaughter, Reagan Schoen; and by numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Dominic’s life will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025 from 12:30 pm – 1 pm at the Nat Gawlas Jordan Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.
