Obituary of Antoinette Saraka

Antoinette ‘Toni’ Sararka, 93, a resident of Legend of Allentown Assisted Living in Macungie, passed away on November 11, 2025 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Allentown. She was born in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late Errico and Catherine DeGuglielmo Zampetti. Toni was a 1950 graduate of G.A.R. Memorial High School. In her earlier years, she was employed by Sirkin Dry Goods, and the Social Security Administration in Wilkes-Barre. She later worked for Com Com, a division of Haddon Craftsman in Allentown. Toni was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church in Orefield, where she was active with its Women’s Guild. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, John ‘Larry’ Saraka in 2021. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Ralph Zampetti and infant brother, Anthony Zampetti. Toni is survived by her son, Larry Saraka and his wife, Karen, Lusby, MD; and by her granddaughters, Lauren Saraka and her fiancé, Corbin Hoenicke, Erin VanDuzer and her husband, Mike, and Kasey Dunphy and her husband, Nick; great grandchildren, Madison and Trey VanDuzer and Cassian and Tegan Dunphy; sister, Helen Amendola; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025 at 11 am from the Nat Gawlas Jordan Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre. Rev. John J. Chmil, Pastor of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Swoyersville, will officiate. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township. A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service on Monday from 10am to 11am at the funeral home.
