Obituary of Linda Cross
Please share a memory of Linda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Linda Wint Cross, 75, of Millsboro, Delaware, formerly of Wilkes-Barre and surrounding areas, entered into eternal life on November 12, 2025, surrounded by love at Delaware Hospice in Milford, DE.
Born on April 10, 1950, Linda was the daughter of the late Walter E. Wint Sr. and C. Dorothy (Martin) Wint. A 1968 graduate of G.A.R. Memorial High School in Wilkes-Barre, she went on to attend Luzerne County Community College in Nanticoke and later earned both her real estate and life insurance licenses.
Throughout her career, Linda worked as a dental assistant and office manager for Dr. Frank L. Boris III, and later as a customer service representative for Nabisco Foods, Inc. She retired as the community relations director for New Seasons at Tiffany Court Assisted Living Community in Kingston, PA, where she was known for her compassion and dedication to residents and families alike.
Linda’s loving and caring spirit was evident in all she did. She loved cooking, baking, crafting, cruising and traveling with her husband, Jim. Known fondly as the “queen of bargain shopping,” Linda had an eye for a deal and a heart for giving. She was a caretaker to many throughout her lifetime.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Captain Walter E. Wint, Jr., USMC.
She is survived by her devoted husband, James Cross, of Millsboro, DE; loving daughters Erin (Tomolonis) Lanning and husband Gary of Shavertown, and Aubrey Centak and husband Scott of Jim Thorpe; siblings Sheila Featherstone and husband Jay of Berlin, MD; Lieutenant Colonel Robert M. Wint, USMC (Ret.) and wife Susan of Charlotte, NC; and Kenneth Wint and wife Heather of Palm Harbor, FL; along with several nieces and nephews.
She will be deeply missed by her cherished grandchildren Robert, Michael, Jesse, and Jakeb Tomolonis, Keilan and Aidan Verdekal, , and great-grandson Grayson Tomolonis.
Also surviving are sister-in-law, Judy Cross of Colorado Springs, CO, stepchildren James Cross and wife Sara, Kathleen Caganek and husband Joseph, and step granddaughter, Kya Cross and all of Binghamton, NY.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Hope Parish, Wilkes-Barre. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Nat Gawlas Jordan Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre.
