Obituary of Deborah Lee

Deborah Lee, 67, of Tunkhannock, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 4, 2023, after a sudden illness. She was born and raised in the GreenRidge section of Scranton, Pennsylvania. She is the oldest daughter of Joseph and Judith Sands Gay. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, James Lee Jr.; a son, James Lee (Nikki); a daughter, Judy Lee-Dowd (Casey); granddaughters Taylor, Jayden, and Kyleigh; brothers Joseph, Jodie (Peggy), sister Judy, brother and sister-in-law’s, nieces and nephews. Her parents and brothers, Jeffrey, John, and James preceded her in death. Deborah dedicated her life to her family, cherishing every moment spent with her husband, children, and grandchildren. Her unconditional love and support were unwavering, providing a stable and nurturing environment for all who entered her home. She was more than a caregiver; She was a friend to all, always offering guidance, solace, and a listening ear. Her love was selfless and all-encompassing, and her family was her top priority. Her children, James and Judy,were her pride and joy, and her role as a mother was her greatest accomplishment. Her love for her husband, children, and grandchildren, family and friends can not be described or measured in words. She was referred to as “Meme” and she cared for all the children in her immediate and extended family as if they were her own. Deborah will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her love, compassion, and selflessness legacy will live on through her children and grandchildren.
