Obituary of Joseph Mogilewicz

Joseph Mogilewicz, 70, of Edwardsville passed away at home Monday September 4, 2023. He was born in Bronx, New York City to the late John and Margaret Baginski Mogilewicz. Joe graduated from Central Catholic High School, Kingston, PA. Prior to his retirement he was employed for over 30 years by Offset Paperback, Dallas. Joe was the Chaplin and a Life Member of Columbia Hose Company # 3, Edwardsville. In his younger years, Joe was an avid fisherman. He had an intense love of amusement parks, especially Roller coasters. Joe loved shooting off fireworks with Carol every 4th of July and New Years Eve. He loved making beef jerky for his friends and adopted family, especially Hannah, who he called “short stuff”. His favorite holiday was Halloween and being entertained by the trick or treaters. His love of the NFL was an obsession especially watching the New York Giants. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Christian. Surviving is his companion of 37 years, Carol Sosik, Shavertown, and brother-in-law, John Christian. Funeral service will be held on Friday Sept. 8, 2023, at 8:00 P.M. from the Edwards & Russin Funeral and Cremation Services, 717 Main St., Edwardsville Friends and family may call on Friday evening from 5:00 P.M. until time of service, at the funeral home.
