Obituary of Anna M Lyons

Anna Marie Lyons, 83, formerly of Wilkes-Barre Twp and Mountain Top, passed away Wednesday November 22, 2023, at Allied Services Hospice Center Wilkes-Barre surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 4, 1939, in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late Stephen B Bogden and Anna K Bobula Bogden. She was educated at St Joseph’s Monastery grammar school and graduated from Marymount High School in 1957 and the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital School of Nursing class of 1960. She spent her career as a R.N. at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in NYC for 1 year and then at the Wilkes-Bare Veterans Administration Hospital until she retired. Additionally, she was a published poet, having several poems published in anthologies in the Library of Congress. Mrs. Lyons was a former member of St. Jude’s Church Mountain Top and was currently a member of St. Robert Bellarmine (formerly St Aloysius) Wilkes-Barre. She was preceded in death by her former spouse Edward J Lyons and brothers Robert F Bogden and Stephen R Bogden. She is survived by two loving daughters, Kelly Thomas and her husband John, Mountain Top, Kathleen Heiser Warrior Run; grandchildren, Thomas Heiser III and his wife Alanna, VA Beach, Jeremy Heiser Warrior Run, Sarah Thomas, Pittsburgh, & Emily Thomas, Mountain Top and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10:00 am in St. Robert Bellarmine (St. Aloysius), Barney & Division Streets, Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St Robert Bellarmine Church, 143 West Division Street Wilkes-Barre Pa 18706.
