Obituary of Richard W. Coveleskie

Richard W. Coveleskie, 89, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township. He was born in the Georgetown Section of Wilkes-Barre Township, a son of the late Joseph and Mary Collies Coveleskie. Richard was an Army veteran serving during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement, he was employed for many years as a technician by the Benco Dental Supply Company. Richard was a member of the former Holy Savior Church, prior to its closing. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Marie A. Whiteley Coveleskie in 2009. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Walter, Joseph, Ronald and Carl; and by his sisters, Marie, Geraldine, Kathleen and Florence. Richard is survived by his son, Richard of Bear Creek Township; and by his sister, Stella Fiorucci, Wilkes-Barre; and by his nieces and nephews. Graveside services with military honors will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024 at 11 am in St. Mary’s Cemetery, 1594 S. Main Street, Hanover Township. Rev. James Alco will officiate.
