Obituary of Bernard Joseph Bozek

Bernard J. Bozek, 73, of Hanover Twp. Passed away Saturday May 25, 2024, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. He was born December 30, 1950 in Wilkes-Barre to the late Bernard J. and Irene Swithers Bozek. Bernard attended G.A.R. High School and was a truck driver for E & R transportation, Biscontini trucking, and retired from Keystone Automotive (LKQ). He was a drafted Army Veteran of the Vietnam War with 16 years combined service with the 109th Field Artillery, Kingston. Bernard was a member of the Hudson Model Railroad Club, Hi-Lites Motor Club, American Legion, and VFW among many organizations he supported. He was a generous, kind hearted and gentle soul that could always find the positive in every negative. When you got him to laugh he couldn’t stop & his smile was infectious. He loved butter pecan ice cream, going to see trains and model railroading, building model cars and building the TITANIC model that is the length of most dining tables. He was a perfectionist when it came to all that and his family will never forget all the incredible memories they had together. Preceding him in death were brothers Ted ‘99, Chris ‘09 and Joe ‘20. Survived by daughter, Sandra Jackson and her husband Ed, son, Raymond Bozek and his fiancé, Denise, grandchildren, Scott Sypniewski and his wife Kingston (MD), Devyn Jackson (PHIL), Olyvia Jackson (W-B), Ayden Kautz (W-B), Raymond Bozek Jr. (W-B Twp), brothers, Mike, Tim, and Phil, goddaughter, Dawn Bozek, and several nieces and nephews. His dear friend and neighbor, George Smith, who he would sit with at the garage and talk cars, trains, and more over a cold one or some fireball. Funeral Service will be held Thursday May 30, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. from the Nat Gawlas Jordan Funeral Home 89 Park Ave. Wilkes-Barre with the Rev. Carol Coleman officiating. Relatives and friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses, and Staff of Wilkes-Barre General Hospital I.C.U. and Emergency Department for their kindness and care they gave Bernard.
