Obituary of Raymond John Derolf

Raymond J. Derolf, 52, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, in the Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia. He was born on October 13, 1971, in Wilkes-Barre, the son of the late Raymond T. and Marilyn L. Shaver Derolf. Ray graduated from Bishop Hoban High School, class of 1989, and received his associate degree from Luzerne County Community College. Ray was employed as a machinist at Trion Industries, he was earlier employed at Bridon America Corp. Among his many talents, Ray was a creative writer. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Especially, his beloved niece and nephews. Raymond had a perfect combination of strength and sensitivity. He was an inspirational and outstanding human being. He will forever be missed. Ray is survived by his sisters, Marilyn A. Derolf-Jankowski and her husband, Derek Jankowski, Shavertown; Donna M. Derolf, Dallas; and Mary E. Derolf and her husband, Jason Hart, Dallas. He is also survived by his nephews and niece, Jacob Derolf; Elizabeth Derolf, Alex Derolf, and Dylan Derolf-Hart; his best friend and “brother” Ben Mckeown, and Uncle Richard Derolf. Along with numerous cousins and friends. A celebration of Ray’s life will be held on Saturday June 22nd at 10:00 a.m. from the Nat Gawlas Jordan Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday prior to the service from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
