Obituary of Ilene Osmanski

Ilene Osmanski, 79, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Johnson City, NY, a daughter of the late George and Sarah Ellis Nackley. Ilene was a graduate of G.A.R. Memorial High School and the Allied Medical & Technical Institute. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by InterMountain Medical and by Bargains Galore. Ilene was a member of St. Anthony-St. George Maronite Catholic Church in Wilkes-Barre, where she was a member of Its Altar & Rosary Society. Ilene was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Osmanski in 2001. Ilene is survived by her sons, Joseph Osmanski and his wife, Stephanie, Kingston; Kevin Osmanski and his wife Christine, Nanticoke; and Michael Osmanski, Baltimore, MD; also surviving are her four grandchildren and her great grandson. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:30 am from the Nat Gawlas Jordan Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, with Divine Liturgy to follow 10 am in St. Anthony-St. George Maronite Catholic Church, 311 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre. Her Pastor, Rev. Adib Salameh, will officiate. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 3-6 pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
