Obituary of Maryann S Allen

Maryann S. Allen, 86, of Wilkes Barre Township, passed away peacefully on July 9th at Highland Park Senior Living Center in Wilkes-Barre Township. She was born in Wilkes Bare on October 13, 1937, daughter of the late Jacob and Mary Trybulski. Maryann was a graduate of Wilkes Barre Township High School and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed as a registered nurse, retiring after many years of service from the Emergency Department at Wilkes Barre General Hospital. She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Parish, Wilkes Barre. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Robert Allen in 2005. Maryann is survived by her sons: Robert Allen and his wife, Joanne, Johns Island, S.C., Mark Allen and his wife, Mary, Hampstead, N.C. and John Allen and his wife, Christine, Berwick, PA; four grandchildren: Melissa McHugh and her husband, Liam, John Allen and his wife, Gabrielle, Ben Allen, and Sarah Allen and her, husband, Cory Raymond; three great grandchildren: Finnegan McHugh, Fiona McHugh and Rosalie Raymond. She is also survived by her sister, Jean Mooney of Kingston, PA and by her niece, Lisa Simkulak, Wyoming, PA. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 9:30 am from the Nat Gawlas Jordan Funeral Home, 89 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 am in Our Lady of Hope Parish, 40 Park Avenue, Wilkes Barre. Interment will be in St Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Dallas Township. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday from 5 – 7 pm at the funeral home.
