Obituary of Alexander J. Kopiak

Alexander Joseph Kopiak passed away at Third Avenue Health and Rehab due to complications of Parkinson’s Disease. Born on March 14, 1942, he was the only child to Alexander and Pauline Kopiak. He graduated from Larksville High School and enlisted in the US Army. He then went on to meat cutting school in Toledo, Ohio to learn his trade as a butcher. He married Stephanie (Figler) Kopiak and they had three children. They resided in Forty-Fort. He was preceded in death by his son Alexander and his wife Stephanie. He will be deeply missed by his daughter, Stephanie Stanczyk and her husband John, and his son, Tyler Kopiak and his wife Michelle. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Krystina Stanczyk Downs and her husband Mitchell, Michael Stanczyk, Kayden, Kyler, and Koltyn Kopiak. Special thank you to Candace Jackson, his angel nurse who went above and beyond for Alex, treating him like family. Also thank you to Dr. James Noto, his Neurologist who provided Alex with compassionate care for years. Dad, there is no more pain or suffering. You can swallow, laugh, and walk now. You are at peace. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Nat Gawlas Jordan West Funeral Home, 717 Main St in Edwardsville.
