Obituary of John C. Walker

It is with heavy hearts that I announce the passing of my beloved husband, John C. Walker Jr., 67. He left us way too soon on Friday, October 18, 2024. John was born in Scranton, formerly of Edwardsville and now resides in Hanover Twp. John was born March 26, 1957, to the late John C. and Irene Kapcala Walker Sr. He was also preceded in death by his sister Diane Walker. He is survived by his devoted wife, best friend, and soul mate, Sandy Majorana Walker, whom he married in 1995. Also survived by his sisters, Carol Doknovitch, Nancy Karpovitch (Tony), Sharon Terpak, Irene Courtney (Bill), Joanne Kachmarsky (Dennis), supportive sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, along with several loyal best friends. John was employed by Edwardsville Borough and self employed as a talented carpenter and jack of all trades, often lending a helping hand to family, friends, and neighbors, who valued his workmanship. He enjoyed traveling with his spouse to Aruba and several Caribbean destinations, bus trips to Atlantic City casinos, and Myrtle Beach/Conway, SC. John’s kind heartedness, wit, and sense of humor endeared him to all who knew him. His absence leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him. But his memory will forever be cherished. May he rest knowing he was loved, will not be forgotten, and will be deeply missed by all. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday October 26, 2024, from the Nat Gawlas Jordan Funeral Home, West Location, 717 Main Street, Edwardsville. Family and friends may gather from 4:00 pm to 7:00 p.m. Friday October 25, 2024, and 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the funeral home.
