Larry was a wonderful friend to me and I am quite sad over his passing. I was lucky to have spoken to him two days before he passed. It was very common for both of us to pickup the phone and check-in with each other. I met Larry thru my business which required me to travel up to Pittston, PA. Larry made a sales call to my office in the late '70's and I immediately like him because we had many things in common beside him knowing the market and have a wonderful reputation. He was the an excellent salesperson who knew his business and worked equally for his customs as well as protecting his company. I know for a fact Larry helped me out immensely in those early years as our friendship development.
Over the years we grew closer and we both enjoyed many rounds of golf together and even salt water fishing out at my summer home on the North Fork of Long Island. We fished many times out there and he brought his son Chris out one time and they both caught some very large Striped Bass fish out on the waters on the Long Island Sound.
I retired in 2014 but that didn't end our friendship because we both kept in touch. There wouldn't be more than a month or too that went by that we didn't speak. The last two years we spoke more often once I learned about his health issues. We always had conversation about the old days when somehow he would show up at the Woodlands Inn bar whenever I was in town. We would sit there for sometime and talk about life. He had a wonderful way of listening and understanding peoples issues and concerns. One of the early benefits of being Larry's friend was that me not knowing the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area so I could always depend on Larry to fine a super good restaurant especially a good Italian one. I will miss my dear friend Larry, he always brought joy to me and my wife love him equally for his charm and kindness to her. Larry rest in peace my friend and as we always ended our calls, we said I love you Brother. And I did...................
