Obituary
Obituary of Maureen Padavan
Please share a memory of Maureen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With a heavy heart and profound sadness, Maureen Padavan lost her battle to stage 4 lung cancer on June 3, 2021. She traded in her chemo port for wings and in the end, it was not the cancer that killed her but the treatment itself. Maureen was best known for her love of music, animals (especially the hummingbirds), her amazing food, and in the pre-COVID world the highlight of her week was being part of the group of ladies who brunch (Linda, Janis, Barbara, Nancy, Sara, Molly, and from time-to-time Bobby and JoJo). She was a rare combination of someone who had a love of life and a firm understanding of what is important – the simplicity of living a life with those you love. She graduated from Coughlin Highschool in 1966 and shortly after attended Wilkes Barre Business College. She worked as the treasurer for the USWA Local 14458 (better known as District 10 back then) but she always wanted to work in the healthcare industry so that is exactly what she did. She became the business manager at Mercy hospital and loved every minute of it. Maureen is survived by her loving husband Joseph (JoJo as she called him), her brother Davey, and her amazing and talented daughter Lindsay. She is also survived in death by Stepson David and his wife Reene Padavan as well as grandson David (who will forever be known as Little David to her) and granddaughter Lexie as well as her loving Stepmother Regina Casaia, half-brother Mark Casaia, and Stepsister and brother Lisa and Ralph Revello. She is also survived by loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her dearest father Fredrick A. Casaia, Mother Irene Casaia, Best friends Linda Williams and Mary Roe Milligan as well as her two best four-legged friends Pablo and Tuxx.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the team of doctors and nurses at Residential Hospice for there loving care of Maureen.
